How to transform a matchmaking platform into a full esports ecosystem?

At my arrival, NEEFT mainly allowed:

  • Team search

  • Player search

The goal was to centralize recruitment, coaching, contracts, calendar, content, and monetization within one environment.

The CHALLENGE : Structure complexity without losing clarity.

The real challenge

After analyzing usage, I realized the problem wasn’t a lack of features—it was a lack of structure.

My role was not to add pages but to structure the platform into a coherent system. Users don’t need “more”, they need to :

  • Understand where they are in the platform

  • Know what relates to their role

  • Navigate without confusion between different flows (recruitment, management, coaching…)

Subscription and e-commerce features were designed to integrate naturally into the existing dashboard.

Structuring before styling

My work focused on clarifying the architecture of new features before integration :

Note : I primarily worked on UX/UI design and high-fidelity mockups in Figma. Technical implementation was handled by the founder/developer.

Unified Visual Language

With 20+ screens designed (dashboard, messaging, e-shop, profiles, team management, subscription, email templates…), consistency was crucial.

I created :

  • Modular component system

  • Clear visual states (active, pending, rejected…)

  • Stable typographic hierarchy

  • Reusable patterns

This maintained visual unity despite the variety of features.

Learnings

This project taught me to :

  • Design a multi-role complex product

  • Turn complexity into clarity

  • Work at ecosystem scale

  • Think structure before aesthetics
